This week in Art History, our project will be based off of each individual's taste in music! Students will explore the songs or even whole albums that inspire them. They will base their artwork off of that inspiration. They are not allowed to simply copy album art however.

Hey all! We will have this week to get all the Free Draw material out of our system. If you have not turned any work in, this is the week to get that done. A new assignment will be ready for all of you come Monday the 30th.
Hey all, I am very sorry for not update on Sunday night. I came down with something on Saturday and I am just now really getting better. Tomorrow (Tuesday), we will take a look at our projects and for these next two weeks, we will just have free draw and students are allowed to make work up until testing is over. Several students are, I'm afraid, not taking the assignments seriously. I had hoped that with actual pointed projects, more students would want to take part, but that has not always been the case and much of the work I'm seeing looks rushed. Grades will reflect that situation.
Hey, all! This week our theme will be "I need a Hero!". Obviously that phrase can go in multiple directions and the art work can be wide spread. One thing that this work will hopefully encourage is imagination. The main issue from most of our young artists so far from a work standpoint has been that they are charging after the most obvious choice for a project. I will post the rubric that I use below and you will see that going for the obvious gets a lower grade. I encourage all students to research and explore all of their options before zeroing in on what they want to do with the idea.
This week in Art History, our theme will be "Through the Woods". This can obviously be interpreted in several ways and I encourage that. I am currently grading last weeks work and adding up the participation grade from last week, but those should all be up by Tuesday of this week. After counting all of the art work up, I am currently in possession of 15 pieces...I have 25 students. Please ask your child if they are one of the ten missing pieces of art. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me or email me.
