Welcome back! We will move back into pencil for at least one more week and will be tackling the sketchy world of quick sketches. We will create boxes on our paper and draw from there. All students will need their ruler for this. The main focus with these sketches is just to catch the idea of the drawing, not the refined product.
Ok, so I will be posting pictures of our work on Conte Crayon later this week. I will also grade that work. After looking at some of the work, I feel like the majority of the students did well and understood the medium pretty well. This week, we will go back to the more fine drawing of pencil, which is our staple medium. We will explore Charcoal after the holiday week. Our concentration this week will be face on portraits, which can be difficult, but skills like that are never won easily.
This week in Art History, we are going to start working on a new medium! We will work with Conté Crayon and Mi-Teintes Paper and this should be exciting to everyone because it is a medium that lends itself fairly well to both beginners and experienced artists. We will start very slow by going very simple and end up being much more advanced work by the end of the week. If you are interesting learning more about Conté Crayon, please check out the video below! |
