This week in World History, we will begin our second look at Rome and the Empire created in the Mediterranean and beyond. We will have a test on Tuesday which the students have been reviewed for and should be well prepared after a full weekend in which to study.

This week will be our first full week since being back from Christmas break! We will take a look at the distractions that the Roman patricians placed upon their people and the awkward topic that is also, unfortunately, a High School fashion choice...the Neck Beard and is ever okay to have one. We will have a test on Thursday and on Friday, we will dive into our next layer of Roman history.
I hope everyone enjoyed their MLK Day and was able to spend that special holiday with their family. For this week, we will begin our look at ancient Rome, which is of course always a favorite due to the popularity of Rome and its armies. Grades are up to date for the most part, so be sure to check those out as well.
Students and parents, we have a lot to get done this week due to our surprise day off on this past Friday due to weather. We will start off by finishing our Greek Culture station activity, followed by notes for Chapter 5. We will review for our test this week on Tuesday, followed by the rest of the notes for Chapter 5. On Wednesday, we will begin our writing activity for this 9 weeks and finish that after our test on Thursday. It's a short week and a lot to do, so bring your thinking cap!
Welcome back parents and students! I hope Santa brought you everything you wanted! This week, we will continue talking about Greece and the Hellenistic Era. We will begin, however, by going over rules and regulations from the first part of the year as a big reminder of how our classroom needs to run. Also, we will look at our overall grades and remind ourselves of our ultimate goal...getting to the 9th grade!
