Hey all! We have a very busy week. We will start the week with our test on Ancient Greece. On Tuesday and Wednesday we will be taking a look at Roman laws and the Twelve Tables as well as examining a video about the Punic Wars. On Thursday, we will finish our notes as well as take a look at the Emperors of Rome. I will not be in on Friday, but the students will have a more than capable substitute teacher to help the students complete their map of the Roman Empire.

Hey all! Ok, so I had previously said that we may not have our test on Greece this week...turns out that I was wrong. We will have our test on Greece this week on Friday. The good news is that completely catches us up to where we need to be to start Rome next week. On Monday, we will continue our work on our Sparta vs. Athens graphic organizer and finish up any work and make up all tests so that all students are caught up. On Tuesday, we will finish up our notes on Ancient Greece by talking about Alexander the Great. On Wednesday we will be taking a break from our World History and centering on Black History month by watching a video about how the Civil Rights movement changed America. On Thursday, we have a Persian War graphic organizer to complete and all work on Greece is due that day. Friday will be our test and it is a state the relationship test. You will have some vocab on the test as well. For those not familiar with state the relationship essay questions, the format is actually pretty simple. You will be given three words, phrases, people or events and will ask to connect those three subjects in essay format. For example, using something non-history related, if you were given Douglas MacArthur, Japan's bombing of Pearl Harbor and Hiroshima, you would write an essay that connects those three iconic World War II related subjects. These kind of essays allow me to know that you understand the material. See you all tomorrow!
Hello all! This week will be very busy. We are going to complete our section on Ancient China by finishing our notes on Monday. We will finish our work on Chinese Dynasties as well. On Tuesday, we will tackle our vocab, a test review and we will practice the ancient art of Chinese calligraphy! On Wednesday, we will move on to Ancient Greece and our first set of notes. All cards on the table, we are behind by about 4 days, so I will be speeding a few things up to get us to where we need to be. On Thursday, we will take our test on Ancient China and on Friday, we will complete more of our notes on Ancient Greece as well as begin and DBQ dealing with the Spartans!
