Test scores are in for the first test and they were pretty decent overall. The class averages for the test are just about right with 1st period being about 3-4 points lower than I would like and 4th and 5th periods being either spot on or maybe a little high. If there are any questions regarding your child's test grade, please contact me at the school.
Hey all! This week in World History, we will look at the earliest of the five major religions; Hinduism, Buddhism and Judaism. All three of these were important to the development of the cultures that they sprang from. On Monday and Tuesday, we will go over our vocabulary as well as complete two activities based on both Egypt and our early religions. On Wednesday, we will watch the first Episode of the Bible Story. This documentary is simply the telling of the stories and at no point attempts to convince anyone join a religion. In this episode, it is telling the story from the Bible about the early Hebrews and their beginning. Throughout the early part of our class, we will watch three episodes of this total. I've found that my students identify with these stories very well because of their experiences in their churches. I will also review for our test on this day. Thursday we will complete our activity on Judaism and on Friday, we will have our Unit 1 Sections 4 and 5 test.

Hello everyone! This week in World History we will start the week by finishing our Code of Hammurabi DBQ. I have a lot of students who did not complete the work for various reasons, so we will complete that on Monday. We will have our first test on Tuesday, so study up for that. On Wednesday we will begin our section 4 notes on Empires and explore ancient Egypt along with an activity that will get you moving about the room! We will continue that activity on Thursday and finish our notes which will concern Mesopotamia. On Friday, we will view a documentary on the ancient Mesopotamian people along with an accompanying activity.
Hello everyone and welcome to World History! This week we will begin our notes in preparation for our first tests. The EP and general classes will be finishing up all notes this week and will test next week. There are a number of activities to complete as well, including our first DBQ of the semester! This DBQ (Data Based Questioning) will be all about Hammurabi and his set of laws. We will also be doing some cave painting this week by allowing the students to create their own cave artwork of something they would like to leave behind for future people to see.
