This week is a bit strange because we have at least two days of career prep. Starting off with Monday, my 6th and 7th period classes will be taking notes on the three first world religions (Hinduism, Buddhism and Judaism). While 1st and 5th Period work on a timeline of the Pharos of Egypt. Tuesday will be a half day for me, but I will be in the building for the entirety of the day and will check in from time to time. Students will work in Career prep on this day. On Wednesday, we will hopefully finish notes for 6th and 7th period while beginning notes with 1st and 5th. Any time left over will be spent on makeup work. On Thursday, we will have an activity about the spread of Buddhism as well as a checkpoint review for our test which will be on October 5th. Friday will be another day for career prep since we are trying to finish that out for the 9 weeks.

We will return to notes on Tuesday when we will discuss early world religions. On Wednesday, we will write the essay (test grade) for the Nile River DBQ. I hope that you have all had a good Labor Day weekend. We are going to start the week by talking about how our first test went. For the record it went very well overall in the Honors classes. I think I had more A's, specifically 100's, than I've ever had so I thank you for that. There were a few low grades, but overall everyone did very well. 1st Period had an overall average of 80% with 5th period doing slightly better with an 82%. 6th and 7th period also did well overall on their test with 74% and 75% respectfully. I will talk with all classes to discuss any issues that students may have had however. We will continue our work on the Daily Life in Egypt as well.
On Wednesday, we will finish notes for Section 4 and begin notes on Section 5 of Unit 1. We also have to get ready for our county test which I will give you a study guide for. I've not decided on a date for this test, but it will be before the 17th of September for sure. On Thursday we will begin the Nile River DBQ that we've talked about and you will write the essay for that sometime next week. On Friday we will be in Career Prep as always. |
