So the next two weeks will be a little strange for me. I will miss a lot of days in class which is way out of the norm for me. I have training alongside Mrs. Hayden on the 2nd and the 3rd of December, but I will be in the building on those days, so I should be able to unlock anything you guys need in Career Prep or otherwise. I will miss a couple of days the next week because my wife is having surgery and I need to take care of her. That all said, we are going to start this week off by finishing up notes in Japan and Greece (2nd period) and we will have our tests on those histories on Friday, December 4th. 2nd Period will also complete the DBQ this week and write their essays. I will also hand out the study guide for my exam as well as for the Q2 test, which will be given sometimes next week. While I'm away this week, classes will be working on Career Prep and finishing up work that has not been completed. We all just need to hang on a little bit longer and we will be out of this semester. If you are a student who is behind on work, this is when you need to buckle down...their won't be time to save you in the end.

This week in World History, we will start off by starting the DBQ for Zheng He and his voyages as an explorer and trader and whether or not his accomplishments should be celebrated. We have our test on China for EP students and 2nd period has a test on Ancient Greek Culture on Tuesday. 2nd Period will also begin work on China's Golden Age as well as notes. On Wednesday we will finish out the DBQ with the county required essay. On Thursday, we will begin working on Feudal Japan's notes as well as an activity on Feudal Japan. Friday will be our day for Career Prep. Every student desperately needs to be at 55-60% by the end of the semester.
So this is pretty much one of my top weeks of the year where teaching is concerned. Being allowed to introduce so many of you to the military and informing you about Veteran's Day is one of the privilege's of my life. Some of you come from a military family, so not everyone will be walking in blind, but you may still pick up some new info. We will be discussing this great career path as well as watching a documentary on Navy boot camp. Wednesday is the actual date for Veteran's Day, so you will be out of school and on Thursday, we will be finishing our notes on China in the Middle Ages for honors classes and finishing our notes on Greek culture in 2nd period. On Friday, ironically enough, I will be out due to a Dr. appointment at the VA in Tuscaloosa. Of course that day will be reserved for Career Prep.
So I want to first apologize up front for not having all of the tests graded. The Hurricane threw me off and I didn't expect the damage to be so great that we couldn't return to school on Friday, so I did not take all of the tests home with me. My tentative plan for the week has us working on notes for ancient China on Monday, but we might switch that around to Tuesday and work on Career prep for Monday which would give me more time to get everything graded so that we can discuss the test results on either Tuesday or Wednesday. We will begin notes on China in the Middle Ages this week though and we will also take a look the Chinese Golden Age along with their inventions and innovations. The Chinese have a fascinating culture and background that I think you will enjoy.
