Almost there, folks! This week will be thrown off by the PBS field trip to see the Biscuits and Field Day at the end of the week, but we will carry on anyhow and get as much done as possible. Kids not going on the Biscuits trip will be with me (I think I will have around 8 students total for the two classes) and we will watch a movie chosen from my vast collection. On Tuesday, we will begin out look at the Crusades and follow that up with an activity on the same subject. On Wednesday we will continue with our notes as well as finish the prior day's Crusades activity. On Thursday, we will tackle the Medieval Church as well as begin an activity on Primogeniture. Friday is Field day, so students will be feebly attempting to put teachers into the dunk tank with their less than adequate throws as well as scarf down as much pizza as humanly possible.

This week in world history, we will start our look at Medieval Europe! First, however, we will take our test on Africa and Islam. You will also finish your maps of Africa if time allows. On Tuesday, we will be on a testing schedule and will start our notes for Europe. On Wednesday, Mr. Strickland will be teaching a lesson in 3rd period but my personal lesson plan for that day is to have you all begin a family crest. On Thursday, we will go over our next group of notes followed by an activity. On Friday, we will start our look at the Crusades. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT RESEARCH PAPERS ARE DUE ON THE 30TH OF APRIL!
Hey all! This is yet another week of testing for Global Scholar, so make sure that you put forth your best effort on the Math section this week. Now, in World History, we will begin (and end) our look at Islam and Africa! This is a rather short section, but it is fun and really informative. We will start the week out with our test from Unit 3 Section 1 on the Byzantine Empire and Christianity. What ever time you have left, you will work on your research paper. On Tuesday, we will be in 1st period for a very long time, so expect to get some work done but we will stop after our normal allotted time to do something more fun, but if you have work to make up...this would be a great day to get that time. If you are in my 3rd period, we will only be in class for a short time, so I will run through the notes that 1st will do and end there. On Wednesday, Mr. Strickland will give one lesson and then I will take the class back over and we will most likely finish notes for both classes, but we have to stay flexible, so they might not be finished until Thursday. We will be working on a map of Africa this week as well. Friday is a teacher work day, so rest up on that day and I will have given you the test notes for the following week on Thursday.
Hey all! A reminder that your research papers are due on April 30th. These are for a test grade. This week we begin our Global Scholar testing. Please be prepared to do your best. Global scholar shakes our lessons up a little, but we will be charging through the gap to finish our notes by the end of the week and test on the Byzantine Empire sometime early next week...probably Monday. We will start the week off by working on our notes then trying to finish our activity from Friday. Tuesday and Wednesday are reserved for either finishing work or doing research for the paper. We will finish our notes on Thursday and on Friday we will examine Emperor Justinian.
