Almost every year, I get an email or a handwritten note about our study of Islam. Let me calm those waters by saying this...it's only from a "how did it change world history" standpoint. Just like in Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism and Christianity, Islam is taught with no attempt at tempting students to convert religions. This standard was in place when I was in school and I'm currently 45 years old. Without this standard, the students cannot hope to understand why the Reconquista happened nor the Crusades which still influence our history today. If you have any other questions, just let me know.
Hey folks! This week we will be diving into Africa and Islam! We will start with notes and on Monday and we have our test on Tuesday for Christianity. On Wednesday, you will start an activity on African Empires and we will finish notes for Africa and Islam on Thursday. Friday will be a day for Career Prep.

Hey all, this is a block week and I would guess that 4th period will be our Mustang period...just an FYI. As far as our class goes, we will finish notes on Christianity between Monday and Tuesday as well as go over notes for our test which will come the following week. On Wednesday, which will be our fist day on the block schedule this week, honors classes will be using that time to conduct their research for their paper. I will go over some does and don't for that during that class time. I will also try to have a rubric for you on Google Classroom. 6th and 7th periods will need to work in career prep during the block periods. Some of you are way behind where you should be and it will be very difficult to recover if you do not start getting that work done. I will be out on Friday for a scheduled doctors appoint and all classes will work in career prep.
Hey all! Tomorrow in World History, we are going to take the checkpoint 5 test. One of your fellow students has been gracious enough to share her quizlet with me so that I can share it with you. Please take time to look this over before we take our checkpoint tomorrow. I will be out on Tuesday and you will be working on a series of documents on Christianity. On Wednesday, my honors students will be learning about APA writing style while my 6th and 7th period classes will be working again on the documents from the day before or career prep. On Thursday and Friday we will be going over notes for Christianity as well as watching The Bible, which I know you guys have been ready for since the last time.
https://quizlet.com/669526852/history-checkpoint-5-study-guide-flash-cards/?i=1oc8ro&x=1jqY This week in world history we will take a different look at the Roman Empire and its eventual end in Western Europe. We will also look at its continuation with the Byzantine Empire. We will go over notes on Monday and on our block days as well as complete an assignment on the Roman Emperors. These notes are relatively short, so we should finish up over two days. Wednesday will an E-learning day and you will need to work in career prep. I am also working on a due date for your research papers in the honors classes and should have that this week as well as clear instructions. Throughout the semester, we will come back to the research paper and talk about collecting data and APA style for the paper. We will continue career prep on Friday as there are a number of you who are behind.
